Used Conn "Elkhart" 6D F/Bb French horn in lacquered brass, manufactured in Elkhart, Indiana ca. 1952. Features include a modified Kruspe wrap, .468" bore, yellow brass construction, and medium yellow brass flare.
Instrument is in good condition apart from surface scratching/heavier laccquer wear, dings/dents and a fair amount of dent repair to the bell flare, some metal/plating wear at contact points. a few minor spots of red rot in the leadpipe. Some parts of this instrument were made in brass (instead of the typical nickel silver) due to rationing of nickel during the Korean War. This horn plays quite well with a warm sonority. This would make a great first double horn! Includes case.
