Dillon PS Clarino Baroque Trumpet Mouthpiece (Modern Shank)
The Dillon PS Clarino line of baroque trumpet mouthpieces! Available in 4 sizes and both in baroque trumpet and modern trumpet shank tapers, this line will seek to cover the majority of baroque trumpet playing needs through my own designs which I’ve worked on and refined over the last decade. They work great as individual mouthpieces, and even better in tandem as a set.
PS Clarino 1: the work horse of the line is setup with a traditional flat rim and deep cup suitable for the majority of first trumpet playing of the High Baroque Era. Also, very suitable for more demanding solo literature and taxing section playing.
PS Clarino 1.5: For the players seeking the traditional cup shape of the Clarino 1 with the slightly larger rim of the Clarino 2.
PS Clarino 2: a slightly enlarged version of the PS Clarino 1, the PS Clarino 2 has a wider rim diameter and enlarged cup shape, while maintaining the same rim shape for more breadth of sound in the lower register, suitable for section playing and less demanding solo literature requiring a sweeter sound.
PS Tromba: the largest mouthpiece in the line, still featuring a flat rim and slightly altered cup shape, this mouthpiece works across a wide variety of playing, being suitable for players requiring a bit more room without sacrificing facility in the upper register. Also works particularly well on Flatt trumpet and Tromba di Tirarsi.
PS Clarino 1047: Designed for use on high F trumpet, the PS Clarino 1047 works wonderfully well for Brandenburg 2, in addition to working very well on D and C baroque trumpets for the more demanding high trumpet parts found in the literature of JS Bach, Reutter, and Michael Haydn.
